What is Medical Oncology?
Medical Oncology covers the diagnosis of cancer, the crafting of the treatment plan and the ongoing care of the patient through every stage of the illness.
At Clínica Mulher, the Medical Oncology consultation is for women with suspected or diagnosed breast cancer, gynaecological tumours or colon cancer. It can be booked as a first assessment, or to plan treatment and as a respective follow-up consultation.
This specialty is also integrated in the Breast Diagnostic Pathway, a clinical circuit that brings together breast medicine, radiology, pathology and medical oncology to address suspected breast changes or a BI-RADS 4/5 result within seven working days, that finishes with a clinical plan set-up.
